Dr. Gao is the Chairman of ZEASN, the company behind the whaleOS TV operating system. whaleOS enables consumers to find and watch entertainment on their TV. The company works with entertainment, technology and advertising partners to provide a comprehensive TV experience that can be licensed by TV brands. Popular streaming services on the whaleOS platform include Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube, DAZN and Globoplay. On the whaleOS operating system, and other platforms, the company also offers its own FAST streaming service under the rlaxx TV brand. To date more than 400 TV brands integrated whaleOS into their smart TVs, resulting in 38M+ monthly active TVs globally.

Prior to ZEASN Dr. Gao was one of the Founding Partners of Smart Cinema and held various senior leadership roles in Wanda Group, Legendary Entertainment, News Corporation, Twenty-First Century Fox and was the first President of Microsoft China. Next to his role at ZEASN Dr. Gao also holds a seat on the board of AGTech (HKEX: 08279) and AsiaInfo (HKEX: 01675).

Dr. Gao has been featured on the Variety 500, highlighting the most influential business leaders shaping the global $2 trillion entertainment industry. Hollywood Reporter included Dr. Gao as one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Entertainment and Forbes China listed him as one of the Global 100 Outstanding Chinese. Dr. Gao graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles and the Harbin Institute of Technology with a Ph.D. in Engineering.
